Frequently Asked Questions About Visiting DKV
Where can I dispose of construction and demolition debris in Rush City, Minnesota?
DKV Demolition Landfill accepts approved construction and demolition debris at 9416 517th St, Rush City, MN 55069. DKV is a veteran- and family-owned landfill operating under MPCA Permit SW-429, with gravel-covered driving areas and fast in-and-out service. Hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM. Call 320-358-4911 before hauling if you have questions about your materials.
What construction and demolition materials can I bring to DKV?
Examples of accepted materials at DKV include concrete with reinforcing rod, asphalt pavement and blacktop, brick, stone, stucco, plaster, untreated dimensional lumber including painted or stained lumber, wallboard, sheetrock, roofing materials, metal, ductwork, and window and door glass from buildings. These are examples, not a complete list. Materials must meet DKV’s MPCA permit requirements, and prohibited items must be kept out of the disposal load. Call 320-358-4911 if you are unsure about an item.
What materials are prohibited from disposal at DKV Demolition Landfill?
Prohibited materials include household garbage, food waste, liquids, paints, solvents, petroleum products, batteries, appliances, tires, treated lumber such as treated decking and railroad ties, yard waste, and asbestos-containing materials. DKV is not approved to accept asbestos. This list is not all-inclusive. Do not mix prohibited materials into demolition debris; call 320-358-4911 before hauling if you have questions.
Can DKV help with small amounts of restricted items if I separate them from my load?
Some restricted items may qualify for separate handling at DKV and disposal at another appropriate facility, rather than disposal in DKV’s landfill. Call 320-358-4911 before bringing any restricted items to confirm the specific material, quantity, separation requirements, and additional charge. Keep approved items isolated from the demolition debris. Separation alone does not guarantee acceptance, and DKV does not accept asbestos.
How much does it cost to dump demolition debris at DKV?
Disposal of accepted demolition debris at DKV costs $10 per cubic yard, with a $10 minimum charge per load. Separate handling of approved restricted items costs extra. Call 320-358-4911 before your visit to confirm charges for anything requiring special handling.
